Reds charged by UEFA
Llanelli AFC have been charged by UEFA following their Europa League defeat by FK Tauras in Lithuania last week.
The club has received notification that it will be charged for Improper Conduct of the Team, which is mandatory for UEFA matches when over five yellow cards are shown to a team in a match.
Reds defender, Martyn Giles, has also been charged for an act of violence after the match, which involved two other Tauras players, Marius Kizys and Mantas Lekis in the tunnel area. Lekis had already been sent-off by the Macedonian referee in the 117th minute, so his involvement in the fracas after his dismissal, is sure to mean a lengthy ban for the Lithuanian.
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will meet on Thursday 15th July in Nyon to discuss the charges.
The club have also learnt today that Chris Holloway has been handed an extra one match ban for his sending off in the first leg last week.
This means that Holloway will miss the first game in Europe next season should the Reds qualify along with Rhys Griffiths, Craig Moses and Chris Venables who are all banned for the next UEFA game. At the UEFA meeting on Thursday all three could be the subject to extra bans along with Giles, when the UEFA Disciplinary Body meets.
