Media Man Tanner Steps down at Aber

Paul Coyne (left) and Mark Tanner have both enjoyed a successful time in AberystwythThe pre-season break has seen a change in the Media Team at Aberystwyth Town, with Mark Tanner leaving the Park Avenue club after two years as Media Officer.

Mark replaced Thomas White in September 2008 and in almost two years made a significant contribution, volunteering hundreds of hours for the club. A club statement read;

His major achievements, on top of his regular media reporting duties include the complete overhaul of the Club website, www.atfc.org.uk, incorporating regular updates, Club Exclusives, match previews and reports

"His major achievements, on top of his regular media reporting duties include the complete overhaul of the Club website, www.atfc.org.uk, incorporating regular updates, Club Exclusives, match previews and reports."

Mark also helped to form, and co-managed Aberystwyth Town FC's DIGS team, ATFC Lions, with Paul Coyne - the son of former manager Brian Coyne - and after a difficult 2009/10, the Lions won a trophy in their final game, winning the Consolation Cup, and the trophy remains with the club as a memento of his contribution.

Mark is replaced as Media Officer by 16 year old James Edwards, son of Club Director Jimmy, who is hopefully making his first steps in a career in Sports Journalism. Mark returns home to support Bath City in the Blue Square Prem with the thanks and best wishes of everyone at Aberystwyth Town Football Club. Paul Coyne has also left Aber, returning to his beloved Shrewsbury Town FC, but did so with a smile, carrying away a 2:1 degree.
