Llanelli net five at Druids to go back to the Top

After being briefly deposed from top slot as a result of The New Saints narrow win a Bala on Friday evening, Llanelli went back to the head of the table on goal difference after thumping bottom of the table Elements Cefn Druids 5-2 at Plas Kynaston. The Reds also have the advantage of two games in hand over Andy Cale's side, but if the title does come down to goal difference their scoring prowess may well settle it for them. Saturday's nap hand, including a first half hat trick for Wyn Thomas, made it sixty for the season for Andy Legg's side, which is thirteen more than The Saints current total.
Saturday's other big movers in the top half of the table were Aberystwyth Town who go third as a result of their 2-1 win at Newtown. Connall Murtagh gave The Seasiders the lead in the fifteenth minute and Luke Bowen got the second thirteen minutes after the break. That looked to have settled it for the visitors, but they did have a nervous final few minutes after Paul Roberts pulled one back for Darren Ryan's side twelve minutes from time.
League Champions, Rhyl are now a point adrift of Aber after losing by a single goal at home to Neath, who have not been at all convincing away from The Gnoll of late, but Chris Llewellyn's 49th winner keeps them in sight of the top three. Another of the top sides to lose at home was Port Talbot, who went down 1-0 to South Wales rivals Carmarthen. Neil Smothers got the goal in the 65th minute that could prove vital in his sides bid for a top ten finish.
Disappontingly for Carmarthen the club immeadiately above them in the table, Airbus UK Broughton also won to maintain a three point gap. Jamie Smith grabbed a first half brace for The Wingmakers in the 3-0 victory over struggling Caersws at The Airfield, with Mark Allen getting the third on sixty two minutes.
Another player to get two of his sides three goals was Bangor City's Jamie Reed, who scored on the stroke of half time after Technogroup Welshpool had looked like going into the break with a 2-1 advantage. Jamie Brewerton had given Nev Powell's side the lead in the 23rd minute, but the visitors Mike Cronshaw scored twice on thirty three and forty four minutes, leaving it for Reed to secure the points for City with his 65th minute spot kick.
In the lower half of the table, Haverfordwest look to be struggling somewhat to secure a top ten finish and would probably have expected more than a point from a trip to Porthmadog, but they had to settle for just that with the match finishing goalless.
