Super Fan's Welsh Cup Pilgrimage Continued in Bangor...

The Welsh Cup quarter final tie between Bangor City and Llanelli was the 6th game seen by Andy Unwin of Harlech in this season's competition.

Andy has chosen to follow the 2009-10 competition from the preliminary stage right through to the final in Llanelli in early May and also intends following the winners of the competition into the 2010-11 Europa Cup.In the preliminary round, Andy chose to follow his most local team in the competition, namely Barmouth & Dyffryn United of the Design2Print Welsh Alliance.

Once Barmouth were beaten, Andy would then follow the team who beat them into the next round and whoever beat them into the next round etc.To date, over the course of the 6 rounds, Andy has been to the following fixtures;

Preliminary Round
Barmouth & Dyffryn United 2 - 0 Dyffryn Banw

Round 1
Barmouth & Dyffryn United 3 - 2 Buckley Town

Round 2
Flint Town United 7 - 1 Barmouth & Dyffryn United

Round 3
Flint Town United 0 - 1 Bangor City

Round 4
Bangor City 3 - 1 Aberaman Athletic

Quarter-Final
Bangor City 2 - 0 Llanelli

As such, Andy's next game will be the eagerly anticipated semi-final clash between cup-holders Bangor City & Prestatyn Town.

There is also a fundraising purpose to the above. Andy is asking each team he watches to make a small financial donation during his travels.

Once all of the donations have been collected, Andy will work alongside the Welsh football supporters charity 'Gol' (www.golcymru.com) and will present the money he has raised to a worthwhile charity in the country the Welsh Cup winners are drawn to play in the 2010-11 Europa Cup.
