Evening First for the Loosemores Final
The Loosemores League Cup Final will be played on a Tuesday evening for the first time in its history. The final, which will be contested between Rhyl and The New Saints FC will be played on Tuesday, 27th April 2010, with a 7:30pm kick-off.
The host club for the final is Airbus UK Broughton and the fact that the Airfield has been chosen from the first time, is testament to the development made at the stadium in recent seasons.

The League would like to clarify that this is the first time that the match has been announced officially. Discussions were held with the two participating clubs, the host club, the Board of Directors and the Sponsors, about staging the match over the Easter period. This date was not fixed, and it became evident during the consultation process with all interested parties, that the Easter date was not convenient to all. It is regretful that the proposed date was announced by one of those parties, before it was confirmed by the League.
The League reopened the consultation process and suggested a new date to the host club to check the availability of the stadium. This proposal was again brought into the public domain during the consultation process and it quickly became evident that this date was also unsuitable.
The League is pleased that the date has now been confirmed and that everybody can look forward and plan to attend, a keenly contested final between two of the most talented teams in the League.
League secretary John Deakin said; "Given the location and the reasonable chance of getting good weather on an April evening, I'm confident that the evening kick-off will work for this prestigious final."
It was also confirmed that in future years, the date of the League Cup final will be announced at the same time as the fixture list before the start of the season, to avoid any difficulties in the future.
