Friday's Principality Premier Preview
Gap Connah's Quay v The New Saints - (19:30)
TNS travel to the Deeside Stadium hoping to extend their lead at the top to five points. The Saints will hand a debut to Chris Sharp following his switch from Bangor City last Friday and he is likely to be named in the starting eleven. The Saints have the best defence in the lead and 'keeper Paul Harrison will be hoping for another clean sheet.
GAP Connah's Quay, looking to bounce back after last week's Welsh Cup defeat at lower league Afan Lido, have called up talented prospect Rob Jones to their squad. The central defender impressed in a recent reserve game and is now expected to make his debut and have to deal with Sharp this evening. Striker Aaron Burns is inline for a home debut and former skipper Gary Pinch is also expected to return after re-joining the club recently.
Stuart Cook is out injured after a nasty knock at the Lido last Saturday, whilst striker Andy Olsen is also an absentee. Nomads boss Mark McGregor is going into the game with hope after a good performance last September at Park Hall.
"It was goalless with three minutes to go when they rattled in those late goals but overall we felt we matched them well," said McGregor to the Daily Post.
"They are going strong but we need to make our home games count so we are looking at this game as a positive opportunity."
Port Talbot Town v Haverfordwest County - (19:30)
Former Port Talbot Town striker Mark Dodds returns to the club on Friday as a Haverfordwest defender in a big clash for both clubs. The Steelmen lost their last league game at TNS, but will be desperate to gain all three points to continue their quest for a top-three finish. The hosts have a strong squad and boss Mark Jones is expected to remain unchanged.
County won their last league outing 3-1 at Welshpool last weekend. Steffan Williams was a two-goal hero and boss Derek Brazil will be hoping that his teenage sensation will continue with his good form.
