Prestatyn Announce Five Figure Cash Injection

Prestatyn Town have announced a new sponsorship deal that will secure the club's future for the next three seasons, the club's website reports.

At a meeting of the club's executive committee on Thursday night, chairman Tony Thackeray announced the deal with Walsh Investment Properties (WIP), a company owned by the club's president Mike Walsh.

The deal will see a significant five figure cash sum injected into the club for the next three years ,while as an added bonus, WIP have also agreed to provide a 30 x 8 sectional building worth approximately £5,000 that will be turned into a matchday hospitality suite.

The announcement comes as a fantastic boost ahead of Town's campaign to join the restructured League next season and is also a great way to celebrate their centenary year which begins in 2010/11.

Chairman Thackeray told Seasiders Online: "This is absolutely fantastic news for the club and we are indebted to Mike Walsh and WIP for their valuable and much appreciated support. It will enable us to push forward in our aims to achieve Super 12 status and takes us those few steps further down the line to establish Prestatyn Town among the leading clubs in Welsh football."

"We are all aware that these are difficult economic times and for WIP to commit to this level of support for the next three seasons is a magnificent gesture. On behalf of everyone connected with Prestatyn Town, be they players, officials or supporters we say a huge thank you."

Mike Walsh - administrative management partner of WIP - added: "We are pleased to be the new sponsors of Prestatyn Town Football Club and very proud to offer our continued support to the team, management and all the hard-working volunteers at the club in their forthcoming centenary year."

As part of the deal WIP's Sean Walsh will become the club's vice-president. Meanwhile work continues apace on the developments needed to bring Bastion Gardens up to Super 12 status with the blockwork for the new medical rooms now nearing completion. The interior work on the dressing rooms is now heading towards the finishing line and the groundwork for the new TV gantry and police control room will start within the next fortnight.
