Hartshorn's move to Newtown falls through

Lee Hartshorn's proposed switch to Newtown is offNewtown manager Darren Ryan has been unlucky again in the transfer market, as the FAW had to veto Lee Hartshorn's proposed move from Merthyr Tydfil.

The Robins announced their new signing over the weekend, but when the FAW Registrations department dealt with the move when business reopened after the weekend, they discovered that he had already played for two clubs this season. FIFA Rules dictate that a player can not play for three clubs in the same season, so Ryan has again been left frustrated.

Hartshorn left Merthyr to play for Clevedon Town in England earlier this season, before returning to the Martyrs. This means that the stopper can only play for Merthyr or Clevedon for the rest of the season.
