Lilywhites most active on Deadline Day
Rhyl trio George Horan, Lee Hunt and Greg Stones all left the Champions on transfer deadline day, having had their contracts cancelled by mutual consent.
But, Lilywhites boss Greg Strong recruited a number of new faces including a duo from Altrincham FC. Twenty-year old Andrew Owens is a centre-half or left-back, who joined the Conference club in November, but was released in January. He is the son of former Altrincham and England semi-pro international, John Owens. He had joined Stafford Rangers in August 2009 from the Glen Hoddle Soccer School in Spain, but started out as a youngster at Liverpool, before moving to Stoke City. In early 2008, a period of work experience was spent at Leek Town before he moved to Marston Road.
Andrew Pearson, a Manchester-born centre-half, was also released in late January by Altrincham, having joined the club in August 2009. He was reported to be a mainstay of Wigan's youth team for two seasons and also made regular reserve appearances for the Latics, before his release at the end of last season. He played his junior football in Urmston as a striker, a role which took him to Bolton Wanderers. There he moved to central midfield before developing as a centre-back at Wigan.
The void left by Hunt has been filled by centre-forward Lee Ebden who has previously played for Lancaster City and Kidderminster Harriers. His spell at Kiddy was wrecked, having spent 18 months out of the game due to injury. Another arrival is Joseph Dixon, 24, who is a winger that has joined from Chorltonians FC.
Horan is still without a club, but he can still sign for any other side outside of the window, as his contract was cancelled. Hunt has joined Bangor City, whilst Stones joined Colwyn Bay.
