Wingmakers to host Womens International Qualifier

The Football Association of Wales has this afternoon announced that the Wales v Sweden FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifying Match will take place at Airbus UK Broughton FC on 31st March. The kick off time is yet to be announced.

The Swedish team, top seeded in Group 8, has so far played three and won three in this competition, and reached the quarter final stage in last years Women's Euro Championships in Finland.

Prior to this match Wales will play Northern Ireland in a friendly on 24th February and Belgium in a World Cup qualifying match on 28th March, both away from home.

The Wingmakers are currently increasing their seating capacity at the Airfield to meet FAW Domestic Club Licensing requirements and benefitted from a grant from the Welsh Ground Improvements Fund last month to assist with the development.

The club also spent a considerable amount of its own money on pitch development over the summer with a five-figure sum spent on irrigation and a sprinkler system to make the surface at the Airfield better than it has ever been.

The match will be the first International to be played at Airbus' home in Broughton and is a great achievement for the club.
