Hunt returns to Bangor on Deadline Day

Bangor City are pleased to announce the signing of striker Lee Hunt who was released from his contract by mutual consent by Rhyl over the weekend.

He has signed in time to play for the Citizens against Airbus on Tuesday night for his second spell at the club and further good news for the Citizens is that he is available for the Welsh Cup Quarter Final in February against Llanelli, as he has not played for Rhyl in the competition this season.

Hunt only re-joined Rhyl in July after a season away from the club at Conference club, Barrow. He scored just two goals from 18 Conference appearances and was released by the Bluebirds because of his lack of goals at that level. He was also loaned-out twice during his spell at Barrow, to Fleetwood Town and Droylsden.

He first joined Rhyl in the 2003/04 season and scored 60 goals in 114 (+5) League matches for the club before transferring to Barrow, claiming that he was being victimised by referees in the domestic league. After his return to Belle Vue, he came on as a second-half sub against Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League Qualifying match, but missed the 2nd leg due to a holiday.

He was named in the Welsh Premier dream teams of 2005 and 2007 and will be hoping for a successful second spell at Farrar Road.
