Bangor capture Jebb from Colwyn Bay
Following confirmation of Chris Sharp's departure to TNS this afternoon, Bangor City have announced that they have today secured the transfer of Eddie Jebb from Colwyn Bay on an 18-month contract.
The 27 year old winger/forward had been a long time target for manager Neville Powell, who tried to sign him last season when he opted to join Colwyn Bay. Powell said;
"With the departure of Chris Sharp to The New Saints, it was important that we signed another player as soon as possible as we only have a small squad."
Eddie has got pedigree, was a target for two other Unibond clubs, and will fit in well within the squad as he knows most of the player's already
"Eddie has got pedigree, was a target for two other Unibond clubs, and will fit in well within the squad as he knows most of the player's already.
"With Marc Limbert now my assistant it was important that we signed a right sided player to give the team balance, and this is what we have done. Marc has still got a big part to play on the field; however, I do not expect him to feature as often now." Speaking about Sharp's departure, Powell added;
"We have parted on good terms and Chris will always be welcome at Farrar Road; I am sure he will be a success for The New Saints, but hopefully not against Bangor City."
Jebb's transfer was completed in time for him to be eligible for the Welsh Cup match tomorrow, where he will be unveiled to Bangor fans and he is likely to be named in the squad to face Aberaman Athletic.
More good news for the Citizens is that forwards Les Davies and Jamie Reed have both signed an extension to their contracts, which will keep them at the club until the end of 2010/11. Club captain Jamie Brewerton also did the same last month.
