Saints Show Racism the Red Card

Around 150 school children from Llanfyllin High School attended a Show Racism the Red Card (SRTRC) event in partnership with The New Saints FC last week. The event was excellent for the pupils' education as they have been studying Racism in Sport for their GCSE's.

Workers from SRTRC played the "Racism and the Beautiful game" DVD, which was one of the highlights of the day and they then had the opportunity to ask questions to Saints' first team players Tommy Homes, Danny Holmes, Craig Williams and two SRTRC Patrons / Education workers and former professionals Leroy Rosenior and Christian Roberts.

After the Question and Answer session, the club provided some fantastic prizes including a signed TNS FC shirt and Liverpool FC memorabilia, which some of the first team players from Merseyside had brought to the event.

SRtRC would like to thank TNS FC including Tommy Homes, Danny Holmes, Craig Williams and Ian Williams for arranging the event.

The club also provided 300 match tickets in total for all the children who attended the event for their crucial game against Port Talbot. The players provided autographs for the young children who were given SRtRC resources and a TNS FC poster.

SRTRC Campaign worker Jason Webber said;

"SRtRC would like to thank TNS FC including Tommy Homes, Danny Holmes, Craig Williams and Ian Williams for arranging the event, the Teachers and pupils that attended from Llanfyllin High School. It was a great event."
