Bala host Bangor on Opening Day

Principality Welsh Premier League newcomers Bala Town will host Welsh Cup Champions, Bangor City in their first ever Top Flight fixture, when the League kicks-off on Friday 14th August 2009.

Colin Caton's side have recruited a number of experienced players to add to his Cymru Alliance Championship Winning squad and the opening match will mean that one of those new signings Ricky Evans will face one of his former clubs on his Bala debut.

Former TNS striker John Toner and ex-NEWI Cefn Druid and Rhyl defender Mark Powell, who are both Welsh Premier League Champions will also make their debuts in that opening game at Maes Tegid. The fixture is certainly a difficult task for Caton's side who have also strengthened their squad in the close season with Ashley Stott and Marc Smyth both returning to the club.

Also on the opening Friday, TNS will host Prestatyn Town at Park Hall, in a match which the Saints won 2-0 last season, courtesy of John Leah and Alex Darlington strikes.

League champions Rhyl begin the defence of their title at Belle Vue against Deryn Brace's Carmarthen Town, which will not be an easy task for Alan Bickerstaff's side. Caersws who were give a late reprieve fom relegation for the second time host mid-Wales rivals Aberystwyth Town.

On Sunday, Llanelli will host Airbus UK Broughton at Stebonheath.
