Veteran Powell signs for Bala
Veteran Mark Powell has left Elements Cefn Druids to sign for Principality Welsh Premier League newcomers Bala Town.
The utility player spent the last two seasons at Plaskynaston but decided to accept an offer from the Maes Tegid outfit for the forthcoming season. Druids' joint player-manager Waynne Phillips said to the club's website; "I can't speak highly enough about Powelly.
"He's one of those that always gives 100 percent and he has always been professional in his approach with us.
"Yes, it's disappointing to lose our captain but I don't have a bad word to say about him and hope he has the same view about us."
"I hope it works out for him, but the door hasn't closed on him. We've told him that if the move doesn't work out, we're just a phone call away. I wish him all the best."
Phillips also revealed that he and Lee Jones have been in regular contact with the members of last season's squad who are still to sign and have also been talking to players from outside with a view to signing for the 2009/10 season.
