Chris Venables has joined LlanelliLlanelli Manager Andy Legg has signed midfielder Chris Venables from Aberystwyth Town.

The Wales Semi-Professional International was a target of Peter Nicholas during the January transfer window but the player decided to stay at Park Avenue, where he played a key-role in helping the Seasiders to their first Welsh Cup final in 109 years.

The Shrewsbury-based playmaker gained his first Wales Semi Professional call-up under Tony Pennock in the Four Nations in 2006, when he was a Caersws player. He then played for Welshpool Town and spent just a season with Brian Coyne at Park Avenue.

Legg is delighted to land Venables as an addition to the squad as he said that "he will add a bit of quality" to the midfield. Venables trained with his new team mates at Bryngwyn School on Tuesday evening.

Another Wales Semi Professional International midfielder, Chris Holloway has also signed a new contract with the Reds.
