Shannon and Dowridge both make Nomads Switch
Aden Shannon and Paul Dowridge have both followed Chris Venables out of the Welshpool exit door. The duo have decided to join their former boss Steve O'Shaughnessy at Gap Connah's Quay.
Despite the departures Manager Tommi Morgan remains upbeat about the season ahead with over 30 players attending the opening training session on Tuesday night and he told the club's Official Website;
"There are several new signings just around the corner...The time is right to bring in new blood. We have had a successful spell with the current squad and my challenge is to reproduce that success with new players."
"At some stage every club has to rebuild. The season ahead will see a lot of changes at Welshpool Town and a lot of new faces."
One new face at training on Tuesday night was former Aberystwyth Town goalkeeper Richard Morgan, who looks set to compete with Danny Jones for the Number One shirt at Maesydre in the forthcoming season. Known by many as 'Honky', he returned to Penrhyncoch last season when he fell down the pecking order at Park Avenue, with Dave Jones becoming the regular stopper.
