Jarman makes New Bridge Meadow Switch

Former Cardiff City defender Lee Jarman has signed for Haverfordwest County.

The talented and assertive centre-back is an excellent acquisition for the Bluebirds, who have made some quality signings in the close season. Manager Derek Brazil, who lives in Caerphilly, has certainly used his South Wales contacts to attract quality players to the New Bridge Meadow Stadium and Jarman becomes the fifth close season signing for County.

The Bluebirds swooped for Port Talbot Town duo Craig Hanford and Dylan Blain as well as former Steelman and Llanelli utility player Dyfan Pierce from Dinas Powys, whilst youngster Tyrrell Webbe joined from Cardiff City's Youth Team.

Jarman has also played at Exeter City, Oxford United and Weston Super Mare and spent three seasons at Newport County, before he was released by the Exiles in May

Speaking after the club's first pre-season session Brazil said to the club's website,

"I am delighted that Lee has decided to join us. Just as with Tyrrell Webbe, many clubs were after his services, and his decision to sign for us is a reflection on the players and staff at the club.

"Lee has had good reports about how the club is run, and is looking forward to linking up with the rest of the squad on Tuesday."

Jarman, made over 100 appearances in the English League system, he represented Wales at Under 21 level and was tipped to be a future Wales International when he broke through at Ninian Park. This never became a reality for the Cardiff born-and-bred stopper, who played for Barry Town alongside current Bluebird Tom Ramasut in the League of Wales.

Brazil added, "Lee reminds me of myself. He is a footballing centre-half whose maturity and ability will rub off on other players. He will bring more experience to the side, and his composure will have a calming effect on the team."

Jarman's composure was evident when he scored the winning penalty in last season's FAW Premier Cup semi-final against Cardiff City, when he ironically played against new team-mate, Webbe.
