A Positive Way Forward says Rhyl Chief Parry
Rhyl FC President Peter Parry has spoken to the club's Official Website today to discuss a Positive Way forward for the Lilywhites. He explained,
"Our European Adventure this time round has been difficult under extreme constraints." The former Rhyl player pinpointed the following difficulties,
"The restrictions in signing new players to strenghten the team before the European games and the imposed transfer deadline of 4th July has not assisted Welsh teams that compete in European Competitions."
Mr. Parry did add that he understood that the same would be the case next year for the three UEFA Cup representatives, but the Football Association of Wales has confirmed that they would be reviewing the Summer Transfer Window, to ensure that the Welsh sides could sign players before the UEFA Registration deadline, so our clubs have the best squad available to start the competition.
Mr. Parry continued to state that Senior player's injuries was also a problem going into last Saturday's 1st Leg in Dublin and with midfielders Greg Stones and Jimmy Kelly still both doubtful for the return this weekend, it certainly hasn't helped Rhyl's cause with their shallow squad.
The Rhyl supremo also added that there was a limited inherited squad for the coaching team of Alan Bickerstaff and Osian Roberts to work with.
He added,
"I, more than anyone else, have witnessed the extraordinary work behind the scenes and the huge investment made in the club over the past few years and currently being made."
There is further good new on the horizon for the club because Mr. Parry also confirmed that there would be more significant signings during the next couple of weeks, following the capture of four-times capped Wales International Neil Roberts from Wrexham this week.
I, more than anyone else, have witnessed the extraordinary work behind the scenes and the huge investment made in the club over the past few years and currently being made.
An interesting observation from a senior potential new signing was that the Coaching / Management structure at the club is second to none, probably the best in Wales, including even the professional clubs of Cardiff City and Swansea City.
Finally, the Club Structure was outlined as follows;
Administration Management Team
Dave Milner - Managing Director
Joe Furnival - Football Secretary
Coaching / Management Structure
Jamie Digwood - Director of Football
Osian Roberts - Head Coach
Allan Bickerstaff - Senior Coach
