O'Shaughnessy steps down from Canaries Perch
Steve O'Shaughnessy has stepped down as Manager of Caernarfon Town and could be named as the new manager of Connah's Quay.
"I've enjoyed my time at Caernarfon Town and wish them all the best for the future," said O'Shaughnessy to the Daily Post.
"However, there are still problems there and I have had an offer that I have considered over the weekend and have decided to move on."
GAP Personnel is in the final stages of completing a puchase of the Nomads, but is refusing to issue an official statement until all the legal issues have been completed.
The Wrexham-based recruitment company pulled out of initial negotations three weeks ago, but talks were resumed and the company announced that it was ending its interest in Queens Park, who have resigned from the Cymru Alliance prior to a merger with Borras Park Albion.
An ex-Leeds United apprentice, O'Shaughnessy holds the Uefa A licence and is currently studying for his Pro Licence, so he fits the profile required by the ambitious new management, who say they will inject substantial funds into Nomads and want to secure a place in the proposed 10-club Welsh Premier top division in two year's time.
The ex-TNS Manager succeeded Adie Jones at The Oval in September 2006 and in addition to also managing Oswestry Town, led Cefn Druids to the quarter-finals of the League Cup and the Welsh Cup semi-finals in 2001/02.
As a player, he made 140 league appearences for Inter Cardiff, Barry Town, Holywell, Caernarfon, Rhyl, TNS, Bangor City, Oswestry and the Druids.
