Ian Sheridan scored a hat-trick as Bala Town booked their place in the Welsh Cup Quarter Final with a 5-0 win over Huws Gray Alliance leaders Cefn Druids.

In a tie that was twice-postponed and then reversed to Cefn Druids' Rock Stadium, the Lakesiders avoided the proverbial banana skin with a convincing win over the 2012 runners-up.

The visitors got off to a flyer when the unfortunate Robbie James scored an own-goal with just seven minutes on the clock. Sheridan then doubled the advantage with his first of the night with a quarter of an hour played. The same man then scored the third eight minutes before half-time as Bala raced to a 3-0 interval advantage.

Bala were awarded a penalty on 67 minutes and Sheridan slotted home his hat-trick, before Steve Brown capped off a fine night for the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League side with the fifth in the final minute of normal time.

Bala have now scored eleven goals in their two Welsh Cup matches this season and face Welsh League side Aberdare in the quarter-final on St. Davids Day in the Cynon Valley.
