The Steelmen took full advantage of the poor conditions at Bastion Gardens and attacked the game from the start dominating the first 20 minutes.
Lewis Harling opened the scoring on 16 minutes to put the South Wales club ahead in the first and only second phase fixture of the day. Port Talbot's lead only lasted until the half hour mark when Mike Parker equalised for the home side.
Poor defending saw Prestatyn go 2-1 down after 36 minutes after Rhys Griffiths bagged his 10th league goal of the season for the Steelmen. Even though The Seasiders had the more of the ball in the first half Port Talbot did enough to edge ahead at half time.
The first 15 minutes of the second half saw Port Talbot closing out measured attacks from the home side. On 68 minutes Rhys Griffiths scored his second of the game and 11th of the season to put The Steelmen 3-1 up.
Eight minutes later the home side had a glimmer of hope as they were awarded a penalty, Lee Hunt pulled another goal back to make it 3-2 in the quest to get something from the game. Prestatyn pressed and pressed in the final 10 minutes to no avail as in the 90th minute Lewis Harling was gifted the ball to put the away side 4-2 up. This claimed to be a valuable victory in the hunt for 7th place.
