The New Saints today unveiled the signing of Ryan Edwards.

The 19 year old left Gap Connah’s Quay yesterday and was understandably delighted to be joining the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League Champions. The youngster said, ‘I am over the moon. It is what I have been working so hard for. When the offer came in, I couldn’t turn it down. I heard about the potential move at the start of November when Mark McGregor told me that TNS wanted me. He told me that it was probably the best move for me so I am delighted that I am now here.’

The Glan Conwy born midfielder also added that he would like to develop his game further at Park Hall stadium, ‘Hopefully TNS can help my development and help me become a complete midfielder. I like to get up and down, and get on the ball. I am not really the kind of midfielder who attacks the ball. I just want to develop as a midfielder as I am only 19. I haven’t scored as many goals as I would have liked to this year but I will definitely be working on that side of my game. First of all I have to work hard to get into the team and then hopefully show what I can do.’

The centre midfielder joined The Nomads in January 2012 and broke into the side at the start of the 2012/13 Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League season.

Edwards will wear the number 17 shirt for The Saints.
