Craig Harrison is cautious of Lido's confidence
Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League leaders, The New Saints travel to Afan Lido today in one of two Friday evening fixtures in the League.
The Saints are unbeaten in the Welsh Premier League since August and will be hoping to win a fifth league game in a row.
Director of Football Craig Harrison will be without both winger Ryan Fraughan and centre-back Connell Rawlinson and the 36 year old will also be without veterans Scott Ruscoe and Steve Evans, who are both still recovering from their respective injuries.
Lido, who gained their first win of the season at Prestatyn last weekend, were recently beaten by TNS in October. A wonderful goal from Kai Edwards and a brilliant brace from Alex Darlington ensured a comfortable victory at Park Hall stadium.
When The Saints last travelled to Marston’s Stadium; Fraughan, Evans and Greg Draper sealed a 3-1 away victory as Harrison’s side went on to win the league by a record points margin.
They are going to be full of confidence after their win and it is important that we go down there and get a result
The Director of Football admitted that Paul Evans' side can cause a threat and said, "It is going to be a tough game because they won their first game last weekend against Prestatyn and to be fair to them, they have been performing well.
"They are going to be full of confidence after their win and it is important that we go down there and get a result."
The former Middlesbrough man added; "Without being disrespectful to Afan Lido, the pitch isn’t the best and with it likely being wet and windy, it is going to be a very difficult game.
"If we have to grind a result out, then that is what we are going to do because we want to win and carry on the run."
