There have been more European appointments for Wales' three UEFA Referee Observers recently, which has been a common theme throughout the season.

Last week saw Welsh referee observer Ray Ellingham on duty at the Europa League game between Zulte Waragem of Belgium against Maribor of Slovenia in the city of Brugge, whilst Referees’ Manager Rodger Gifford had the shorter journey to the UEFA Youth League match between Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund. The match in UEFA's newest competition was played in the ground of Conference South side Boreham Wood in front of 800 spectators.

Next week Brian Lawlor makes the short journey to Manchester for the UEFA Youth League encounter between Manchester City and CSKA Moscow and Referees’ Manager travels to Austria for the Europa League tie between Rapid Vienna v Genk of Belgium in the 50,000 seater Ernst Happel Stadiium.

The following week sees Ray Ellingham making the long journey to Israel where he will oversee two Under 21 internationals in 3 days, Israel v Norway and then Israel v Portugal.
