Port Talbot Town 1-2 Bangor City

Guillem Bauza watched from the dugout as Port Talbot’s misfortune continued with a 2-1 defeat to Bangor City on Saturday, writes Matt Burgess.

The Spanish striker was given a second-half cameo at the GenQuip Stadium but was unable to make an impact as Port Talbot were left to question just how the win had slipped through their fingers following a sharp first-half display.

Scott Young’s side were left licking their wounds at half-time when Chris Jones’ penalty had put Bangor City in front.

Yet Bangor’s lead at the break seemed improbable until the moment Adie Harris was adjudged to have bundled over Declan Walker inside the area in first-half added time.

Sacha Walters claimed his first goal of the season, beating Lee Idzi, as Port Talbot harried forward early on with a spring in their step.

On 36-minutes an ambitious 25-yard drive from Declan Walker put Bangor level, with the promising full-back’s driven effort cruelly deflecting off Ryan Green for an own-goal.

Chasing the lead in the second-half, Port Talbot were unable to find the same momentum against Bangor who stubbornly defended their lead.

Newtown 2-1 Bala Town

Tom Goodwin struck 10 minutes from time to earn Newtown victory. Craig Williams' penalty had given the home side the lead but Bala had fought back to level through Ian Sheridan.

But on 80 minutes, Kieran Mills-Evans and Williams combined with the latter squaring the ball for Goodwin who grabbed his third goal in three games.
