Afan Lido gained their fourth point of the season with spirited display against the Old Gold. Christian Doidge continued his impressive start to the campaign with the opener on 25 minutes, but the solitary advantage at the break gave the hosts hope.

A fantastic strike from Chris Hartland on 53 minutes will be worth seeing on Sgorio on Saturday and is a goal of the month contender, which gave Paul Evans' side a deserved equaliser. Luke Borrelli then scored from the spot to give Lido hopes of a maiden win of the campaign just after the hour, but Paul Fowler ended those hopes to restore parity on 68 minutes.

Former Town midfielder Kieran Howard was sent off with six minutes to play, but Carmarthen were unable to make the numerical advantage count and the hosts hung on to a share of the spoils.

WPL reporter Robert Clement, later spoke to Chris Hartland in the Marston’s Stadium Media Suite, with him being asked during a month of outstanding strikes in the Welsh Premiership, where do you think that your goal ranks?

“It’s got to be up there, we needed something special to go in, and I’ll definitely take that”.

Talk me through the goal?

“Basically, it was a bit of frustration, with us being 1-0 down, so I thought I’d put my foot through it and it was the ideal finishing”.

Have you scored a better goal in your career?
“It’s got to be up there, and with the current situation it’s definitely in the top three”.

Of course you haven’t won again this season, a point here tonight, but you showed a lot of character this evening?
“Yes, it’s the way our season is going at the moment, we’re doing well and getting on top of teams, but we’re just not finishing. Hopefully, we can move on from here with a good point against Carmarthen who are doing really well at the moment”.

Of course you went a goal down, and it would be easy for the team at the bottom of the league to just collapse after that?
“That’s right, it goes without saying, we’re going to think, here we go again, but we’ve got to keep battling; it’ll come and it’s strikes like that what’s needed”.

“We’ve just got to push on at Rhyl next week followed by Prestatyn, and continued to believe in ourselves, work hard and get points”.
It must be difficult not only for yourself but for manager Paul Evans. What’s the message he’s giving out to a team that’s going through a difficult time?

“Its positive feedback and we have to keep believing in ourselves and hopefully we’ll move up the table”.
