Corbett Sports WPL Saturday Scores & Reports

Canlyniadau ac Adroddiadau

The New Saints (Y Seintiau Newydd) 3 Afan Lido (Lido Afan) 0
The Champions reacted well to Airbus’ victory on Friday night by beating bottom team Afan Lido at Park Hall. The gap between the Broughton outfit and TNS is now back to 3 points but they had to wait until the final minute of the first half to open their account courtesy of a cracking Kai Edwards strike.
Alex Darlington doubled the advantage a few minutes after the restart with a close range header and he secured his brace after 75 minutes.
Ymatebodd y Seintiau’n dda i fuddugoliaeth Airbus ym Mangor nos Wener drwy gau’r bwlch i driphwynt brynhawn Sadwrn. Ergyd hyfryd Kai Edwards ym munud ola’r cyfnod cyntaf roddodd y pencampwyr ar y blaen a dyblwyd y fantais yn fuan wedi troi diolch i beniad syml Alex Darlington. Rhwydodd y blaenwr ei ail o’r prynhawn gyda chwarter awr ar ôl a dyna oedd diwedd y sgorio.

Bala 2 Carmarthen Town (Caerfyrddin) 4
Carmarthen’s recent dismal record at Maes Tegid came to an end on Saturday. The Old Gold had suffered three defeats on their previous three visits – conceding 9 goals and failing to score themselves.
Bala started well and Steff Edwards scored after only 4 minutes but within 10 minutes were ahead thanks to goals from Doidge and a Morley own goal within a minute of each other. Sheridan hit the bar for Bala and Cann saved Connolly’s first half penalty but two goals in two second half minutes from Liam Thomas (66) and Tim Hicks (67) bagged all three points for Mrk Aizlewood’s boys.
Brown’s late goal was no more than a consolation effort for the Lakesiders who are now in the bottom two once again.
Daeth rhediad gwael diweddar Caerfyrddin ar Faes Tegid i ben brynhawn Sadwrn wrth iddyn nhw ennill am y tro cyntaf mewn pedwar ymweliad. Yn eu tair gêm ddiwethaf yno – ‘doedd yr Hen Aur heb gipio pwynt na sgorio gôl. Fe gawson nhw ddechrau anffodus i’r ornest ddydd Sadwrn hefyd wrth i Steff Edwards roi’r Bala ar y blaen wedi dim ond 4 munud. Ond o fewn 10 munud ‘roedd yr ymwelwyr ar y blaen diolch i goliau gan Christian Doidge a gôl i’w rwyd ei hun gan Dave Morley.
Tarodd Sheridan y trawst ac arbedwyd cic Sheridan o’r smotyn gan Cann cyn ddiwedd y cyfnod cyntaf – ond o ganlyniad i goliau Liam Thomas a Tim Hicks o fewn cyfnod o ddau funud yn yr ail hanner – ‘roedd y fuddugoliaeth yn ddiogel i fechgyn Mark Aizlewood . Doedd hyd yn oed ymdrech hwyr Brown i’r Bala ddim yn ddigon i ddigaloni’r ‘Hen Aur’.

Gap Connah’s Quay (Gap Cei Connah) 1 Rhyl (Y Rhyl) 3
Rhyl deservedly inflicted only a second defeat of the Corbett Sports WPL season on their hosts in front of the S4C cameras on Saturday afternoon. A torrential downpour just before kick-off made conditions difficult for both sides but both teams found their scoring boots early on.
Mark Cadwallader’s impressive turn and shot (7 mins) put the Nomads ahead but Mike Hayes levelled things up 2 minutes later as he slipped the ball under the body of Niki-Lee Bulmer.
Dave Forbes put the Lilywhites ahead after 18 minutes of play but the highlight of the opening period belonged to Paul McManus.
Twelve minutes before the break McManus doubled Rhyl’s advantage with a lovely effort from 25 yards which basically secured Rhyl’s fourth away victory of the season.
Jamie Wynne was dismissed for the Nomads in the 78th minute for his second bookable offence.
Attendance 628
‘Roedd Y Rhyl yn haeddu eu buddugoliaeth yn nhywydd cyfnewidiol Stadiwm Glannau Dyfrdwy brynhawn Sadwrn o flaen camerau S4C.
Sgoriodd y ddau dîm o fewn y 10 munud cyntaf – Cadwallader yn rhoi’r clwb cartref ar y blaen wedi 7 munud cyn Hayes ei gwneud hi’n gyfartal ddau funud wedi hynny.
Rhoddodd Dave Forbes yr ymwelwyr ar y blaen (18m) cyn i ergyd droed chwith hyfryd Paul Mc Manus o 25 llath ddyblu mantais y crysau gwynion ddeuddeg munud cyn troi.
Dangoswyd ail gerdyn melyn i Jamie Wynne gan Mr Tonna’r dyfarnwr o ynys Melita wedi 78 o funudau gwblhaodd brynhawn siomedig i Gap Cei Connah.
Ail golled yn unig o’r ymgyrch i’r Nomadiaid a phedwaredd buddugoliaeth oddi-cartref o’r tymor I’r Rhyl.
Torf 628

Prestatyn 0 Port Talbot 0
Port Talbot climbed out of the relegation zone following a goal-less encounter at Bastion Gardens. Prestatyn were looking to record their second victory within a week but Lee Hunt’s missed penalty after 11 minutes proved to be their best opportunity of the afternoon. The Steelmen have leap-frogged Bala Town in the table.
Llwyddodd Port Talbot i ddringo allan o’r ddau safle isaf wedi’r gêm ddi-sgôr hon ar Erddi Bastion. Methodd Lee Hunt rwydo ei gic o’r smotyn wedi 11 munud ac yn syml dyna oedd cyfle gorau’r gêm am gôl. Mae Port Talbot bellach wedi dringo uwchben Y Bala yn y tabl.
