Bangor Beat Aber and Home Jinx

There was ‘home’ delight at the Book People Stadium on Friday evening as Bangor registered their first home win of the current campaign at the fourth time of asking, infront of over 600 people.

Chris Venables tapped the visitors ahead from 2 yards after 13 minutes but a strong run and shot by Les Davies 8 minutes before the break restored parity.

The Seasiders were trounced 7-1 in the corresponding fixture last season as Siôn Edwards bagged a hat-trick. The winger caused Aber a number of problems in the second half on Friday evening as well and it was his cross which led to Jamie Petrie’s goal after 64 minutes.

Chris Jones’ 71st minute effort made it 3-1 and even Wyn Thomas’ late header wasn’t enough to stop the vast majority of the crowd of 602 going home happy.

Enillodd Bangor eu gêm gynghrair gyntaf o’r tymor yn Stadiwm Book People nos Wener. ‘Roedd ffyddloniaid Nantporth wedi gweld Y Rhyl a Phrestatyn yn ennill yno’r tymor yma a Phort Talbot yn hawlio pwynt hefyd – a doedd pethau ddim yn argoeli’n dda i’r Dinasyddion yn gynnar yn erbyn Aber chwaith.

Rhoddodd Chris Venables yr ymwelwyr ar y blaen wedi 13 o funudau ond 8 munud cyn yr egwyl sicrhaodd rhediad cryf ac ergyd gywir Les Davies bod Bangor yn gyfartal cyn hanner amser.

Chwalwyd Aber o 7-1 ym Mangor y tymor diwethaf pan hawliodd Siôn Edwards dair gôl mewn perfformiad unigol cofiadwy. Wedi 64 munud nos Wener croesodd i’r cwrt a rhwydodd Jamie Petrie’n hyderus i roi Bangor ar y blaen. Gwnaeth gôl Chris Jones 7 munud yn ddiweddarach hi’n 3-1 a doedd peniad hwyr Wyn Thomas ddim yn ddigon i atal mwyafrif llethol y dorf o 602 rhag gadael Nantporth yn hapus eu byd.
