Corbett Sports WPL Saturday Results and Reports

Adroddiadau o Gemau Ddydd Sadwrn

Airbus UK 3 Port Talbot 0

Airbus registered their fifth win in six outings of the current Corbett Sports WPL campaign. They showed their intent in the second minute as Mike Pearson’s lob beat Steven Hall in the Port Talbot goal.
After 16 minutes of play Chris Simm capitalised on a brave Chris Budrys flick on and thundered the ball into Hall’s net off the underside of the crossbar.
Both sides showed a lot of quality during the afternoon but Sam Hart was the only player who managed to find the net (75) in the second half to wrap up the three points for the Wingmakers.
The one worry at the Hollingworth Stadium were the rumours that Andy Preece was being strongly linked with the vacant Carlisle job.

Sicrhaodd Airbus eu pumed buddugoliaeth o’r tymor newydd drwy ddechrau ar garlam yn erbyn Port Talbot. Yn yr ail funud ergydiodd Mike Pearson dros Steven Hall ac 14 munud wedi hynny ergydiodd Chris Simm yn wych i ddyblu mantais y clwb cartref.
Dangosodd y ddau dîm eu doniau’n gyson yn yr ail gyfnod on dim on Sam Hart (75) lwyddodd i ychwanegu at y sgôr.
Yr unig bwynt negyddol o ran y cefnogwyr cartref oedd y sibrydion bod Andy Preece yn cael ei gysylltu efo swydd rheolwr Caerliwelydd.

The New Saints (Y Seintiau Newydd) 2 Bangor 0

Two goals in the space of a minute sent settled this match at Park Hall and elevated the Champions to second place in the table. Mike Wilde opened the scoring after 18 minutes to claim his 5th League goal of the season and less than 60 seconds later Aeron Edwards’ stunning strike stunned the Bangor faithful. The Citizens have now lost their last four games in Oswestry conceding 16 goals in the process and they haven’t scored themselves in any of those matches.
Dwy gôl mewn cyfnod o funud wahanodd y timau yn Neuadd y Parc brynhawn Sadwrn gan godi’r Pencampwyr i’r ail safle yn y tabl. Pumed gôl gynghrair Mike Wilde o’r tymor agorodd y sgorio wedi 18 munud a llai na 60 eiliad wedi hynny chwipiodd Aeron Edwards ymdrech gofiadwy heibio i Lee Idzi.
Mae’r Dinasyddion bellach wedi colli ar eu pedwar ymweliad diwethaf Neuadd y Parc – gan ildio 16 gôl a sgorio dim eu hunain.

After losing their last three matches at Bastion Gardens and conceding 15 goals in the process – Carmarthen’s latest visit ended in a happier fashion as Gareth Wilson's headed own goal chalked out Lee Hunt’s 82nd minute opener for Prestatyn.
Steve Cann was one again in commanding form for the Old Gold as he smartly stopped a number of efforts from Parker and Parkinson in particular but he couldn’t stop Hunt’s goal with 8 minutes left. Bassett’s unfortunate glancing header claimed a valuable point for Carmarthen 2 minutes later.

Ar ôl colli eu tair gêm ddiwethaf ar Erddi Bastion gan ildio 15 gôl yn y broses – bydd taith Caerfyrddin yn ôl i’r de ychydig yn fwy pleserus diolch i beniad hwyr Gareth Wilson i'w rwyd ei hun. ‘Roedd hi’n ymddangos bod ergyd hwyr Lee Hunt (82) wedi hawlio’r pwyntiau i Brestatyn – ond peniad anffodus Wilson sicrhaodd bwynt prin i Gaerfyrddin ar Erddi Bastion..

Aberystwyth 3 Gap Connah’s Quay (Gap Cei Connah) 3

In his first game back in a Nomads shirt Gary O’Toole’s second half brace claimed what looked to be an unlikely point at Park Avenue.
Aberystwyth’s very promising start to the season seemed to be continuing as Craig Williams’ 20th minute effort deservedly put the home side ahead and a minute after the restart Chris Venables’ header doubled the advantage for Aber.
Gary O’Toole, who had only resigned for the Nomads on Friday night gave them hope after 52 minutes – but when Daniel Forde put the ball in his own net after the hour mark – the three points were heading Aberystwyth’s way. However two late goals by Forde in the correct net (74) and that man O’Toole (83 pen) again secured a point for Mark McGregor’s men.

Dwy gôl ail hanner Gary O’Toole oedd y prif resymau i Gap gipio pwynt ar Goedlan y Parc brynhawn Sadwrn.
‘Roedd dechrau hynod addawol Aber i’r tymor yn ymddangos fel y byddai’n parhau wrth i ergyd Craig Williams wedi 20 munud roi’r clwb cartref ar ben ffordd a munud yn unig wedi troi dyblwyd eu mantais gan beniad cywir Chris Venables o gornel.
Llwyddodd Gary O’Toole i roi gobaith i Gei Connah chwe munud wedi hynny yn ei gêm gyntaf ers dychwelyd i Gap – ond pan rwydodd Daniel Forde yn ei gôl ei hun – roedd y triphwynt yn ymddangos yn ddiogel ym mhoced Aber. Ond sicrhaodd ymdrechion hwyr Forde yn y rhwyd cywir y tro hwn (74) ac O’Toole (cos 83) bwynt i fechgyn Mark McGregor.

Newtown (Y Drenewydd) 3 Afan Lido (Lido Afan) 3

Keyon Reffel’s 90th minute equaliser secured a point for Lido in this rollercoaster affair at Paveways Latham Park.
Although Afan Lido took the initiative following Luke Borrelli’s’ 4th minute penalty – Newtown came from behind to take the lead in the day’s basement battle. Craig Williams levelled things from 30 yards just after the half hour mark and ten minutes before the break Zac Evans netted a second for Bernie McNally’s men from the spot. Ryan Batley’s 50th minute rocket made it 2-2 and it seemed that Evans’ second spot-kick (75) had bagged the points for the Robins – but then Reffel’s timely intervention secured a point for the Lido.

Sicrhaodd gôl Keyon Reffel yn amser yr amen bwynt i’r Lido yn yr ornest gyffrous hon ar Barc Latham.
Er i gic Luke Borrelli o’r smotyn wedi 4 munud roi’r Lido ar y blaen – tarodd Y Drenewydd yn ôl ddwywaith cyn yr egwyl. Ergydiodd Craig Williams o 30 llath wedi 31 o funudau i’w gwneud hi’n gyfartal ac yna 10 munud cyn troi Zac Evans sgoriodd yr ail i fechgyn Bernie McNally. Bum munud wedi troi gwnaeth taran o ergyd Ryan Batley bethau’n gyfartal eto cyn i ail gic Evans o’r smotyn roi’r Drenewydd yn ôl ar y blaen (75). Ond Reffel gafodd y gair olaf i rannu’r ysbail ar brynhawn cyffrous yn y canolbarth.
