FAW Referees’ Manager Rodger Gifford reflected on the appointments by commenting;

"Here we have two guys in Brian and Ray who work tirelessly in helping younger referees in their roles as Referee Development Officers for the North Wales Coast and South Wales areas respectively as well as making a huge contribution to the in service training of the match officials in the Welsh Premier League.

"Both are establishing themselves as quality Referee Observers on the European scene with UEFA so for them to receive appointments from FIFA is testament to the quality of their work in this field."
