Park Avenue will host the new Schools project

Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce the launch of a new Schools project, as pupils from Ysgol Gymraeg present Saturday's home Corbettsports Welsh Premier League game against Gap Connah's Quay (ko 2.30pm).

As many as 30 pupils will be invited to take a formal part in the day's proceedings, as Flag Bearers and by taking part in a game at half time on the field of play. They will also enjoy a guided tour of the Stadium, a behind-the-scenes visit to the dressing rooms, and be given the opportunity to collect autographs and take photos at the end of the day. Parents of the children selected to represent the School will enjoy discounted entry to the ground on the day.

Club Director of Marketing Thomas Crockett said: "With this project we have decided to try and build on the excellent work our Club Development Officer Stuart Jones carried out last year by visiting local schools, where he got a terrific response from the pupils.

"We want to make sure local children feel extremely welcome at Park Avenue, and feel a part of the Club, and for that reason we will try to ensure that from now on every Saturday home game is presented by a local School."

Ysgol Gymraeg Head Teacher Clive Williams said; "This is a great opportunity for pupils from local schools to be positively engaged with Clwb Pel droed Aberystwyth. Both parents and pupils are eagerly looking forward to supporting their local club and the half time opportunity to play on the Park Avenue pitch will be a memorable occasion for all."

Subsequent events will see Ysgol Plascrug presenting the game on September 28th at home to Bala, and Llwyn Yr Eos presenting the home tie with Bangor City on January 18th.

Mi fydd 30 o ddisgyblion yn cael eu gwahodd i chwarae rhan swyddogol yn y gem, fel Cludwyr Fflagiau ac wrth chwarae gem hanner amser ar y cae. Byddant hefyd yn mwynhau taith o gwmpas y Stadiwm, golwg tu-ol-y-llenni i'r ystafelloedd newid, a chael y cyfle i gasglu llofnodion a tynnu lluniau ar ddiwedd y gem. Bydd rhieni'r plant a ddewisir yn mwynhau disgownt i fynychu'r gem.

Meddai Cyfarwyddwr Marchnata'r Clwb Thomas Crockett: "Gyda'r prosiect yma rydyn ni am adeiladu ar waith bendigedig ein Swyddog Datblygu Stuart Jones, wnaeth ymweld a nifer o ysgolion lleol y llynnedd, gan gael ymateb penigamp gan y disgyblion.

Rydym am sicrhau fod plant lleol yn teimlo croeso cynnes ar Goedlan y Parc, ac yn teimlo rhan o'r clwb, ac am y rheswm hynny byddwn yn ceisio sicrhau fod pob gem gartref ar Ddydd Sadwrn o hyn ymlaen yn cael ei gyflwyno gan Ysgol Gynradd lleol."

Dywedodd Pennaeth Ysgol Gymraeg Clive Williams: "Dyma gyfle arbennig i ddisgyblion ysgolion lleol ymrwymo yn bositif gyda Chlwb Peldroed Aberystwyth. Mae'r disgyblion a'r rhieni yn edrych ymlaen yn fawr i gefnogi eu clwb lleol, a bydd y cyfle i chwarae gem hanner amser ar y cae yn ddigwyddiad cofiadwy i bawb."

Bydd Ysgol Plascrug yn cyflwyno gem gartref Aber yn erbyn y Bala ar Medi 28ain, ac Ysgol Llwyn Yr Eos fydd yn cyflwyno'r gem yn erbyn Bangor ar Ionawr 18fed.
