Old Gold secure Fourth Win in Five

Carmarthen’s fourth victory in five outings was secured by second half strikes from Christian Doidge, Kyle Bassett (69) and substitute Matty Collins (72).

The hosts dominated the first half but they were frustrated to go in at the break, still on level terms. Their patience paid off though when the deadlock was finally broken on 63 minutes as Doidge struck. This was a hammer blow to the Lido, who recalled Craig Richards in goal and the second followed shortly afterwards. Bassett doubled the advantage on 69 minutes, before sub Collins made it three, just three minutes later again.

Carmarthen’s excellent start to the season hasn’t been emulated by the Lido as they remain on one point following their goal-less draw at Connah’s Quay on the opening Saturday of the campaign. Carmarthen climb to second place in the table.
