FAW Referee Observers Brian Lawlor and Ray Ellingham have again received Observer appointments from UEFA.

The duo, who are seen at Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League matches assessing our referees, most weekends have already been on European duty several times this season, so further appointments are most welcome.

Next week in the new UEFA Youth League, which is for the Under 19 sides of the clubs competing in the Champions’ League, Holyhead's Brian Lawlor will be the Observer at the Manchester United v Bayer Leverkusen game at teh Salford City Stadium. It has been announced today that Eurosport will televise this match live.

On Match Day 2, on October 3rd in the Europa League, Ray Ellingham (pictured) will be the UEFA Observer at the Trabzonspor v Napoli game in Turkey.

It's heartening to know that our referees are being assessed and coached by some of Europe's best every week on Welsh soil

Head of Competitions Andrew Howard commented; "I'm really pleased for Ray and Brian. The frequency of appointments speaks volumes about the quality of their reporting to UEFA.

"It's heartening to know that our referees are being assessed and coached by some of Europe's best every week on Welsh soil and for our referees, their expertise should be inspiring."
