Name Change for Newtown's Stadium

Enw Newydd i Stadiwm Y Drenewydd

Newtown AFC has announced that their ground will now be officially known as Paveways Latham Park.

Paveaways are a major building contracting company based at Knockin.

Newtown Football Club President, Richard Bonfield, is delighted that this 'first class company' will be the club’s new ground sponsors and as such the ground will be now known as Paveaways Latham Park. He thanks the Directors of Paveaways for their valued sponsorship

Steven Owen - Paveways said that 'We are looking forward to being part of the forthcoming season, with us hopefully being able to come along and enjoy some good football over the season and I would like to take this opportunity in wishing everyone at Newtown Football Club a very prosperous and successful season.

Newtown AFC emphasised that Latham will always be kept in the name in honour of local sporting hero George Latham who played for Liverpool, Stoke City and Cardiff City and being capped 12 times for Wales. He maintained his link with Cardiff City and was their trainer in Cardiff City’s historic FA cup win over Arsenal in 1927.
