Bala Town won their 11th consecutive match – but more importantly secured their place in the Europa League Play- Off Semi Finals by beating Gap Connah’s Quay 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lakesiders beat the Nomads at Maes Tegid 1-0 on the previous Saturday thanks to a 90th minute winner by Mark Connolly and clear goal scoring opportunities were few and far between until the 77th minute when Lee Hunt calmly slotted his penalty passed John Rushton.
Referee Mark Whitby awarded the spot-kick when John Hardiker was penalised for handling in the box in front of the crowd of 409.
If Bangor win the Welsh Cup on Monday – Bala will travel to Port Talbot on May 11th – but if Prestatyn win the Cup for the first time in their history at the Racecourse – the Lakesiders will travel to the Book People Stadium to face Bangor.
