Lakesiders and Nomads do battle for Europa Semi-Final

Bala Town host gap Connah's Quay this afternoon in the first match of the Europa League Play-Offs.

This will be the second meeting in eight days and Town scooped all three points last Saturday against the Nomads with an 89th minute winner by Mark Connolly to give the Lakesiders the 100% winning record in the Play-Off Conference.

Both sides are at full strength and no doubt it will be a much more fiery match than last weekend´s tepid affair with a playoff semi final at stake.

Player boss Mark McGregor has a tough tactical decision to make ahead of the match. An effective defensive approach was employed at Maes Tegid last Saturday, which is rare for the Deeside-outfit and it managed to frustrate their hosts for 89 minutes of the game.

Reflecting on those tactics the player-boss told the club;s website;

"It worked so well so I have a big decision to make. I promised the lads if we got into the play-offs, I would let them go for it in a one off game. They will be at me on Tuesday saying 'come on, let us have a go', but Bala are a quality team."

"The lads took to the game plan we came with really well and I am delighted with them because we haven't played defensively all season;" he concluded.
