Rhyl Football Club have been promoted back to the Welsh Premier League, three years after their relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Greg Strong's side have led the northern Tier 2 League for the majority of the season and have remained unbeaten all campaign. The Lilywhites confirmed their promotion back to the top-flight on Saturday afternoon following their 0-1 win at Rhayader Town.

Rhyl were the Welsh Premier League Champions in 2003/04 season and 2008/09, but they failed to gain the domestic licence in May 2010 and were subsequently relegated. They first achieved the domestic licence last season and followed that up again earlier this month.

Rhyl will be an excellent addition to the League next season. Belle Vue is an excellent stadium, they are one of the best supported club's in Wales and their work in the community is also one of the best programme's in the country. Congratulations to all at the club.

The only other promotion candidate, Haverfordwest County, drew 1-1 at Ton Pentre to move up to fifth place with five matches remaining.
