Connahs' Quay successful with Licensing Appeals

Gap Connah's Quay have been successful with their appeals to the FAW Club Licensing Appeals Body after the FAW fast-tracked their appeal.

The Nomads were refused a domestic and UEFA licence by the Club Licensing First Instance Body last Tuesday, but the club appealed the following day and provided documentation in support of their appeal by the end of last week. The Appeals Body was convened and sat this morning (Tuesday, 9th April) and the Panel upheld the appeal.

"Gap Connah’s Quay are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our National Domestic Licence;" wrote a club statement this afternoon.

"We thank the FA of Wales for a speedy conclusion to our appeal and look forward to securing our Welsh Premier League status by gaining points on the field, without uncertainty or distraction hovering over the final three weeks of the season.

"We are grateful in particular to Andrew Howard and David Miller for their assistance. Today’s excellent support from the FAW also ensures the continuity of all the good work we are doing with our Academy of Football and our soccer in the community programme.

"In a further piece of good news, we have also been granted a European licence after meeting the UEFA criteria. "

The deadline for submitting appeals for other clubs that have been rejected the domestic or UEFA licence is this Friday 12th April 2013.
