Chris Coleman urges Wales football fans to support the WPL's Club Day

Wales manager Chris Coleman has urged Wales football fans to support the FAW and Welsh Premier League's Club Day next weekend.

According to Coleman, this is a “bargain and a great opportunity to support Welsh football”.

"At £3.50, in the current climate times are hard, but if you think of some of the places where you have got to pay to watch Premier League football, they're phenomenal some of those prices and I've been quite impressed with some of the things I've seen in the Welsh (Premier) League."

With Swansea and Cardiff not playing at all over the weekend due to the FIFA International match calendar, it's a great opportunity for their fans to watch some local football with games in South Wales on Saturday and Sunday and Coleman looked forward in particular to the Port Talbot Town versus TNS clash at the GenQuip Stadium saying;

"On Sunday we have got Port Talbot hosting TNS, which should ba a really good game. TNS are probably, in my opinion the strongest team, obviously winning it last year and they're in a good position this year."

I've been quite impressed with some of the things I've seen in the Welsh (Premier) League.

"Carmarthen are against Airbus and Llanelli are at Afan Lido, so it's a good weekend of football, especially in the south Wales area."

Coleman welcomed the initiative with Welsh Premier League secretary Gwyn Derfel and you can view what Chris had to say here

Welsh Club Day Initiative

The Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League invites all football fans to ‘adopt a second team’ on the above weekend.

Any fan who has a season ticket for any club outside the WPL can gain access into any of the following matches for half price – an average of £3.50.

23/3/13 Aberystwyth Town v Gap Connah’s Quay Nomads
Afan Lido v Llanelli
Carmarthen Town v Airbus UK
Newtown v Bala Town
Prestatyn v Bangor City
24/3/13 Port Talbot Town v The New Saints

Due to Wales’ international in Scotland on the 22nd Cardiff City and Swansea City have a free weekend while Wrexham don’t play in the FA Trophy Final until the 24th – so why not give the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League a go. It will only cost you £3.50.
