Port Talbot Town have confirmed that Nicky Holland has returned to former club Llanelli after three and a half seasons at Port Talbot Town.

The 23-year-old, moved to the GenQuip stadium in 2009 and featured heavily during his first three seasons, predominantly playing in right-midfield or right-back.

Injury hampered Holland’s pre-season this summer and he then found his first-team opportunities limited since returning to fitness, making just 1(1) Welsh Premier League appearances.

Holland was saddened to leave the club and was quick to thank for the fans for their support throughout his time at the club, where he warmly received as ‘The Flying Dutchmen’.

“I would like to say a big thank you to the fans and supports of Port Talbot Town Football Club for their continued support over the last four seasons – it was much appreciated,” he said upon his departure.

“It is with disappointment that I have decided to leave Port Talbot. Having played every game last season and to return to pre-season with an injury was frustrating for me. I was fit and ready by our third game, and although I continued to train hard but was never considered. Therefore I have decided to resume my career elsewhere.

“I wish Port Talbot well in the future and look forward to returning to the Reds, like every player, with the opportunity to play football again.”

Holland made 73 Welsh Premier League appearances for the Steelmen and the club would like to thank Nicky for his service and wish him the best of luck.
