Afan Lido have issued a statement to confirm that manager Paul Reid has left the first team. The statement read;
"Paul Reid has decided to resign as Manager of Afan Lido Football Club due to personal reasons, with immediate effect.
"Afan Lido Football Club would like to thank Paul for all his hard work and effort during his time in charge.
"Paul has however, decided to remain as Afan Lido Academy Director, continuing the excellent work he has progressed with the youngster's at the club.
"Afan Lido Football Club will be making a further announcement during the next week, regarding Paul’s replacement."
Reid joined the club in the summer after Andy Dyer decided to leave the club. Reid had to re-build his squad after they lost key players such as Carl Payne and Dan Sheehan to Port Talbot and Carl Evans, Liam Thomas and Leon Jeanne to Carmarthen Town. A further blow was dealt on New Years Day when captain and top-scorer Mark Jones left for Aberystwyth Town,
Reid won four Welsh Premier League matches, drew two and lost sixteen, but the fourteen points gained leaves Lido twelve points adrift at the foot of the table.
The club's next match is their final first-phase match on Saturday 2nd February at Airbus UK.
