Gwyn Derfel
Welsh Premier League Secretary Gwyn Derfel, along with two colleagues at the FAW, is attending a Betting and Match Fixing Conference today.
This INTERPOL conference has been established in partnership with the Italian Department of Public Security, UEFA and FIFA with the following objectives;
INTERPOL will be conducting a series of participatory conferences at Football Confederation level which will bring together representatives of the football world, from the government, betting industry and law enforcement to improve individuals' awareness and understanding of corruption in football, and of the strategies used by its perpetrators and of the methods to recognize, resist and report them.
Derfel is joining the FAW's Head of Compliance Paul Evans and the FAW's Integrity Officer Sara Williams at the Conference which opens in the Police Academy in Rome today.
There will be keynote speeches from Antonio Manganelli, (Chief of Police, Italy), Ronald K. Noble, (Secretary General of INTERPOL), Jérôme Valcke, (Secretary General of FIFA) and Gianni Infantino, (Secretary General of UEFA)
Other speakers will include FIFA's Director of Security, Ralf Mutschke and Graham Peaker, UEFA's Intelligence Coordinator.
