Word Cup fever hit Newtown on Thursday as players from both TNS and Carmarthen Town visited local school Ysgol Penygloddfa.

Latham Park in Newtown will host Saturday's Final at 3:00pm and the new Trophy was taken to the local school by League Secretary Gwyn Derfel, who also handed out tickets to the local school children.

Representing the Saints was midfielder Scott Ruscoe, who won the old League Cup five times as well as the club Mascot Spot the Dog. Carmarthen Town's teenage defender Iestyn Evans, Chairman Neil Alexander and club secretary Gareth Jones were in attendance.

Ruscoe believes 'The New Saints will have to play really well to win theWord Cup for the first time; while Evans who's only 17 years old and playing his first senior final 'takes heart and confidence from the fact that Carmarthen are unbeaten in two meeting with the Saints so far this season'.

The build up to Saturday's Final, which is live on S4/C's Sgorio programme, continues on Saturday when Wales Team Manager Chris Coleman will take a Question and Answer session at Latham Park before the kick-off.
