Newtown midfielder Jamie Price has been released by the club.

"The Hereford based player is the latest player to leave the Robins squad after he was released by Manager Bernie McNally following his reappraisal of his squad with the arrival of the transfer window" said a club statement.

"There are several players in McNally's pipeline for addition to the squad, but the only one to have made a move so far is Adam Worton who returns to the Robins following a spell at Aberystwyth and a year with Airbus after asking to leave Newtown upon the departure of Andy Cale in 2011.

"Steve Blenkinsop has transferred to Cefn Druids, Elliot Jones has returned to Montgomery Town and Callum Wright secured his release early in December.

"Notice of approach was served on the Club by Aberystwyth in relation to Luke Boundford, but so far nothing more has been heard in relation to the popular Newtown striker, who has assured McNally of his loyalties to Newtown," the website concluded.

Price is a former Wales Under 23 semi-pro International who also played for Worcester City after spending time with Birmingham City as a youngster.
