Andy Legg has confirmed that he’s resigned as Manager of Llanelli AFC.

Legg and his assistant, Steve Jenkins leave with immediate effect.

Former Wales international Legg offered his resignation to club Chairman Nitin Parekh at half time during Llanelli’s Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League 6-1 defeat to Gap Connah’s Quay at Stebonheath Park on Sunday.

He told BBC Radio Wales Sport on Monday night:

“I’m just relieved that it’s all over. In the past ten weeks we’ve only trained once and that’s not what we’re about. I was going to resign five weeks ago but kept going.

It’s sad because Llanelli is a fantastic club with a great bunch of lads. I’ve had six great years there but it’s time to go.”

The FAW understand that current players are owed almost two month’s wages and are holding on to the European money owed to the club until certain assurances are given that past and present players are treated as preferential creditors.
