Old Gold, New Saints and Wingmakers reach Word Cup Semis

Carmarthen Town 3 Port Talbot 2

The'Old Gold' came back from a two goal first half deficit to claim a Word Cup semi-final spot.

Dylan Blain and Jake Parry in his first start for the Steelmen, put the visitors comfortably ahead at the break.

Liam Thomas scored twice in the previous round at Bryntirion and two early strikes in the second half put his side level at Richmond Park.
Salt was rubbed into Port Talbot wounds as former favourite Liam McCreesh scored the winner for Carmarthen after 69 minutes.

Bala Town 2 The New Saints 3

Although Bala came back from a two goal deficit at Maes Tegid - The New Saints marched on in theWord Cup on Tuesday night. Greg Draper opened the scoring after 6 minutes and Phil Baker doubled the advantage after 24 minutes.

Ian Sheridan (70) and Mark Jones (74) made it all square in the second half before the Saints scored the vital goal through Phil Baker again on 76 minutes. What better way for the ex Tranmere defender to put himself in the shop window for a more regular start for the League Champions than putting his side through to the semis.

Gap Connah's Quay 1 Airbus UK 3 - (AET)

Two goals in a period of three minutes in extra time won the battle of North East Wales for Airbus at the Deeside Stadium and set up a mouth watering semi final against The New Saints.

However Steve Abbot and Mike Hayes netted within three minutes of each other in the second period of extra time to secure the victory for Andy Preece's boys.
