FAW Academies 2011/12 Season
There are currently 23 clubs who have sides that participate in the Academy Cup and Games Programme. Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League clubs must run an Academy programme to be eligible for assessment for the UEFA Solidarity Grant. The monies that the FAW receive in 2010/11 season for youth development will get distributed amongst the Welsh Premier League Academies, subject to meeting the Welsh Football Trust Audit. Any monies that are not allocated because of non-compliance at audit, will get re-distributed to those WPL clubs who have fully met the required standard.
All twelve of the Welsh Premier League member clubs are running an Academy this season. Other clubs to run academies within the games programme are Cambrian & Clydach, Haverfordwest County, Merthyr Town, Newport County and Newport YMCA in the south and Rhyl, Cefn Druids, GAP Connah's Quay, Porthmadog, Llandudno and Flint Town in the north, the latter being a new academy side for the 2011/12 season.
These fixtures are regionalised in to North and South and the clubs particpate in a League with the top four teams progressing to a Cup format.

Aberystwyth Town, Afan Lido, Cambrian and Clydach, Carmarthen Town, Haverfordwest County, Llanelli AFC, Neath FC, Merthyr Town, Newport County, Newport YMCA, Port Talbot Town.
12 Particpating Clubs in the North Wales area are: -
Airbus UK Broughton, Bala Town FC, Bangor City FC, Cefn Druids, Flint Town Utd, GAP Connah's Quay, Llandudno Town, Newtown AFC, CPD Porthmadog, Prestatyn Town, Rhyl FC, The New Saints FC
