Brian James

Brian is 36 and from Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd. He is married to Melanie and has two children, Abigail, 6 and Shaun, 2. Brian picked up the whistle in 1997 in the Pontypridd and District League ad progressed to the South Wales Amateur and Welsh League Division 3 in 2000/2001. He moved up to the Welsh League Division 1 and became a Welsh Premier Assistant in 2003. He is now in his first year as a Welsh Premier Supplementary Referee.

His important matches to date have been Assisting on the Wales Under 17's v Scotland match and the Under 21 friendly between Wales and Cyprus at the Remax Stadium, Port Talbot.

Brian enjoys most sports, particularly Rugby, Boxing, Cricket, Athletics and playing Darts. He also enjoys listening to Rock Music. Brian is a Self-Employed UPVC/Aluminium Installer and avidly supports Manchester City, so much so, that his son is called Shaun Wright!
