Lee Bamber

NEWI Cefn Druids announced defender Lee Bamber as their first signing of the January 2009 transfer window after he joined from Gap Connah's Quay. He made his debut on 16th January 2009 against Prestatyn Town at Plaskynaston.

He played just 5 (+3) times for the Nomads in the 2008/09 season after he left Caernarfon Town to follow Steve O'Shaughnessy to Connah's Quay in July 2008. He became one of his former Manager's first signings at the Deeside Stadium. He is a defender who signed for Caernarfon Town in July 2006 from Maughall. He played a total of 33 League games in 2007/08 for the Canaries and 25 (+3) in his first season at the club, scoring just the one goal.

Bamber, who turned 36 the week after joining Druids, was brought to the Welsh Premier League by Druids' joint player-manager Waynne Phillips when he was in charge at Caernarfon Town. After signing him for a second time, Phillips said, "Lee is somebody I feel that can strengthen us. He gives us experience and is a good talker as well as being able to play anywhere across the back four."
